Carlton Braganza
Founder, Opus Bangalore
He built the venue Bangalore went into mourning over when it closed. He closed it himself.
Carlton Braganza built Opus — the live music venue that Bangalore went into mourning over when it closed. He closed it himself. Voluntarily. At the height of its success. That decision alone tells you something about how Carlton thinks about what a venue should be and what it means to do something right.
In Episode 9 of Season 2, Carlton talks with VIC about building Opus from vision to reality, the grind behind what looked effortless, and the decision to close something that still had everything to give.
The VIC Fix is hosted by DJ VIC — an international DJ and producer who performs at weddings, corporate events and festivals across India, staged as a signature audio-visual show.
“I closed Opus at its peak. Because I refused to watch it become something it wasn't.”
